About the position
Responsibilities
• Assist with month-end reconciliation of accounts.
• Act as an adviser on general accounting and financial issues.
• Handle sales tax filings and prepayments in states where we hold a seller's permit, including California, Texas, and Florida.
• Interact with state departments of revenue to ensure compliance and prompt filing.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, PayPal, and Amazon Pay accounts monthly.
• Record undeposited funds into QuickBooks by matching deposits with bank accounts, considering processor fees.
• Perform account clean-up and re-organization of the chart of accounts as needed.
• Create and file year-end 1099s and send them to contractors.
Requirements
• 5 to 10 years of experience in small business accounting and bookkeeping.
• Degree or Certificate in accounting preferred.
• Significant experience with AvaTax and online selling accounting practices.
• Expert knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Proactive problem solver with a 'Go Getter Attitude'.
• Expert knowledge of account reconciliation and double-entry bookkeeping.
