Summary

The Principal Architect, Engineering, serves as the hands-on lead for delivering high-impact, cross-architecture customer projects, primarily focused on data center builds, migrations, and cloud implementations. This role demands deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to work closely with engineering teams and clients to execute complex solutions from design through delivery.

Description

The Principal Architect will oversee and execute technical implementations across multi-disciplinary technology environments. This includes direct involvement in configuring cloud, networking, storage, compute, and virtualization solutions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project success and customer satisfaction. This position bridges solution design and delivery, requiring both strategic insight and tactical execution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Validate solution architecture in coordination with Solutions Architects.
• Act as primary liaison between project stakeholders and internal teams.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts across practices to ensure holistic solution delivery.
• Lead hands-on installation and configuration of Azure and AWS environments.
• Implement infrastructure solutions including networking, storage, compute, and virtualization.
• Engage with delivery engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support Account Executives in pre-sales efforts and customer engagement.
• Collaborate with external vendors as needed to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery aligned with project goals.
• Document and communicate project progress and outcomes.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience implementing enterprise-grade IT solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering data center and cloud-based infrastructure projects.
• Expertise with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud.
• In-depth knowledge of:
• Data center architecture and disaster recovery solutions
• Enterprise storage and replication technologies
• Backup systems and virtualization (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V)
• Traditional and software-defined networking
• Storage Area Networks (SAN), including Fiber and iSCSI
• Proven ability to manage and direct multiple technical team members.
• Strong client-facing communication skills, including experience engaging C-level stakeholders.
• Effective in whiteboarding and presenting technical concepts in both pre-sales and post-sales contexts.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Ability to travel as needed to support project delivery.
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.
