Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for helping others, and the ability to handle various customer interactions with professionalism.
Responsibilities
• Provide superior customer service and support to customers and sales force.
• Handle busy incoming telephone orders and answer customer inquiries.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Process customer orders efficiently and accurately, editing orders for correct pricing and codes.
• Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to customers.
• Answer customer questions and advise on equipment and materials needed for tasks.
• Demonstrate the use of equipment to customers.
• Arrange for the delivery of cylinders and hard goods.
• Stock and maintain showroom displays.
• Obtain or transfer merchandise to and from other locations.
• Prepare invoices, accept payments, and make change.
• Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
• Communicate with external and internal customers by phone and in person.
• Coordinate with the purchasing department regarding product shortages or outages.
• Observe and follow all administrative and accounting procedures strictly.
Requirements
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Computer skills or some knowledge of computer order entry system (TIMS).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs., and occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs., with frequent bending.
• Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours.
• Must be able to work overtime and Saturdays when necessary.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ability to use sound judgment to resolve both routine and non-routine issues.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $22.47 - $27.07 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 36 per week
