Job Summary:
ŌURA is a company focused on empowering individuals to improve their health through innovative technology. They are seeking a highly motivated Android Engineer to join their Women's Health team, responsible for creating features that enhance insights into reproductive health and overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code for the Oura Android app.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to drive projects forward.
• Work cross-functionally with backend, firmware, data science, research, science, and QA teams.
• Partner with Android engineers across the US and EU to improve the Android codebase.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and platform level improvements
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum 3+ years of professional experience developing and shipping Android apps.
• Strong experience with Kotlin programming and modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVI, etc.), RxJava/Coroutines/Flow, Jetpack Compose, and common third-party libraries.
• Experience with collaborative development on complex shared codebases.
• Proficiency with Git, branching, CI/CD, and standard code review workflows.
• Strong focus on quality through unit and manual testing.
• Solid computer science fundamentals and design patterns.
Preferred:
• 5+ years of professional experience developing and shipping Android apps.
• Experience with Dagger, Realm, JNI, C++, PyTorch, TypeScript, or Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Experience developing women’s health or wellness products.
• Experience working asynchronously across time zones.
• Experience with firmware and companion hardware devices.
• Experience with ML algorithms, encryption, or data privacy.
• Experience with functional programming paradigms.
